the
plastic
gown
made of
170
bags
I started this project back in April 2020 when fabric stores were shut down because of the Coronavirus pandemic. Sewing with unconventional materials is nothing new in today’s world, but I was excited to give it a go for one of my first sewing projects in my own original design!
But How do you Sew with Plastic?
Whenever I would tell someone about this project, most would ask: “but how do you sew with plastic?”. So, I filmed the whole process to show you how I did it, from start to finish.
Watch above or on my Youtube channel.
170 Plastic Bags Later…
The average person uses 150 plastic shopping bags a year.
(Ocean Crusaders)
Every ton of plastic bags recycled saves the energy equivalent of 11 barrels of oil.
